Blue Newt Blue Sprocket Rendering Engine Paper Presented at the 11th Annual Workshop Sichtsysteme Conference
Blue Newt Software presented a technical paper detailing its Blue Sprocket visualization engine and its PixelTransit Image Generator system at the 11th Workshop Sichtsysteme Conference in Wuppertal Germany on the 19th and 20th of Novermber, 2009.
The paper was accepted mid-year and delivered to a packed conference room on the 20th. "We were very pleased to be accepted into this conference and welcomed the opportunity to present our innovative Blue Sprocket engine and IG systems to this very receptive audience." said CEO of Blue Newt Software, Bob Kuehne.
Blue Newt demonstrated the Blue Sprocket engine, with a component model supporting spatialized audio, high-performance networking, and rendering. The Blue Sprocket Renderer within the Blue Sprocket Engine provides a high-dynamic range pipeline, with scalable features throughout. The Renderer provides a number of industry-leading features including customizable culling, high-dynamic range, floating-point pixels throughout, stable cascaded soft shadows, high-dynamic range pixel-correct skydome, unlimited lights through a deferred-lighting scheme, and numerous post-processors. Post-processors include those for blur, bloom, fog, cloud-shadows, depth-of-field, ambient occlusion, and more. In addition, all elements of the Renderer are extensible and customizable. All elements of the renderer have quality and performance knobs as well to allow users to tune performance to their individual systems.
The Blue Sprocket Engine forms the core of the PixelTransit Image Generation (IG) system. The PixelTransit IG allows any number of rendering boxes to be clustered together in service of rendering large-scale coherent images.
The Blue Sprocket Engine and PixelTransit IG will be widely available beginning Spring 2010 and beta applications are being accepted now.
